TAWAU, The ongoing double lane road at Sin Onn road could eventually go on as planned after a controversial site located at mile 2 Sin Onn blocking the construction of the planned street could eventually be settled and work can continue for the benefit of the population there.

Fung Len Fui, the chairman of the Parti Bersatu Sabah’s PKR unit of Sri Tanjong cited that his team had organized a meeting pertaining to the problem by calling upon the land owner, Public Work Department’s (PWD) representative and the contractor involved at the site where discussion was ongoing to settle the matter.

`This is the only area where the construction of the road hit a snag but with all the representatives present, I believe they can settle the matter as I wanted to see the work to continue’, he added after organizing the meeting with the request from the land owner.

Fong added he wanted to see the continuation of the construction as the road is a vital part for the tens of thousand of residents living there in a number of housing estates plying along the road.

The situation became apparent after a dispute on the land between the land dividing the site of the owner and the construction site of the double lane road overlapped causing confusion on the matter during the construction of the road leading to delay of work.

The Sin Onn road upon completion is expected to ease the traffic congestion in the area as well as providing another major route for the district’s township.

Also present during the meeting was Fung’s deputy Chong Hon Vun and others.
