TAWAU, In a close co-operation conducted between Barisan Nasional (BN) component parties, the district’s largest Tanjong market could now enjoy a brightly lit market after some 500 fluorescent lights were installed to replace damaged ones.
Chairman of the PKR unit of Sri Tanjong Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) Fung Len Fui said the matter was make known to him by Lim Yau Siong, the chairman of the district’s Sri Tanjong Hawkers Association.
Fung explained that he went to see Assistance Minister of Finance for Sabah Datuk Tawfiq Abu Bakar Titingan who came up with the needed fund to provide the lights where installation of the fluorescent lights is now underway.
Further repair for ceiling fans will also be conducted in the effort to bring satisfaction to hawkers plying their trade there.
